After saving the life of his partner, Hancock Sheriff’s Deputy Todd Frazier, during an ambush attack, a K9 in Mississippi is being hailed as a hero.
Three suspects were sought after after beating and cutting Deputy Frazier with a box cutter.
According to Chief Deputy Don Bass, who was speaking to the Clarion-Ledger, “They told him they were going to slit his throat, and they were dragging him toward the woods.”
However, before the suspects could carry out their threat, Lucas, a black Belgian Malinois, pursued them.
Authorities claim that Frazier released Lucas by pressing the button that opens his car door. Sheriff Ricky Adam claimed that at least one, possibly two, of the attackers were bit by Lucas.
He told the Clarion-Ledger, “We don’t know how many he received, we just know he had blood all over him.
Frazier was attacked after exiting his automobile to check out a blue Lincoln Town car with a dark vinyl top that was parked at a rest area. The motorist looked to be alone, and the car’s lights were off.
“When he got out, two other people came out of the woods right by the vehicle, and he backed up and fell, and it was on then,” said Sheriff Adam to the Clarion-Ledger.
