“And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” And Jesus uttered a loud cry and breathed his last. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And when the centurion, who stood facing him, saw that in this way he breathed his last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!”” Mark 15:34, 37-39 ✝️

Today is Good Friday, which may seem like a statement of irony at first glance. Death seems to have won, darkness having secured the victory, and sorrow is running rampant.

Such beauty and goodness is found in the fact that God sent His only Son, Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of the world. For the sins of you & I. He paid the price that we couldn’t pay. This was God’s plan all along. And Jesus went willingly out of love. 🤍
