Jacksonville Beach Baptism Draws 2,500+ Into the Ocean

Over 2,500 people walked into the Atlantic Ocean in Jacksonville to declare their faith through baptism.

The Church of Eleven22 gathered more than 14,000 churchgoers, family members, and supporters at Hanna Park this past weekend. One by one, people stepped into the water as they publicly shared that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior. The church shared that baptism shows an inward change where the old life is gone, and new life has come. Pastor Joby Martin said the Spirit of God is on the move and the gospel of Jesus Christ is still changing lives today.

This moment adds to a growing wave of faith across the country. The Church of Eleven22 has held several large beach baptisms in recent years, with nearly 2,000 people last year and more than 1,600 the year before. Many in the crowd celebrated with worship and prayer as the day ended, with the shuttle bus driver also choosing to be baptized. These powerful gatherings remind the community of the lasting impact of faith and the hope it brings to families and neighborhoods.
