Jay Leno and his wife, Mavis have been married since 1980. Mavis was diagnosed with advanced dementia in 2024. Jay serves as her primary caregiver and has chosen to care for her at home. He avoids noisy restaurants because the stimulation can be difficult for her.
Instead, Jay often takes Mavis on long, calm drives around Los Angeles. She sits beside him and enjoys watching the scenery. In recent interviews, Jay has spoken about the challenges of caregiving. He has also shared that he enjoys taking care of her and feels lucky to do so after 45 years of marriage.
Jay continues to adjust daily routines to keep Mavis comfortable. The couple spends quiet time together at home. Jay Leno remains active in comedy and public appearances while prioritizing his wife’s care.
