The family of 90-year-old televangelist Jimmy Swaggart is preparing for difficult decisions as the ministry founder remains hospitalized following a severe cardiac arrest on June 15. His son, Donnie Swaggart, told the congregation at Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge that the family has called an emergency meeting for Friday to discuss next steps, stating “we are facing the end” unless “a miracle from the Lord” takes place. Jimmy Swaggart was found unconscious at his home by his son and grandson, rushed to the ICU, and has shown no significant improvement since. The prominent Assemblies of God minister, who rose to fame in the 1970s and 80s through his televised broadcasts and overseas revivals, continued his ministry work through the SonLife Broadcasting Network even after being defrocked. The family has asked for continued prayers while requesting privacy during this critical time.
