Dear Father, please help me to keep pressing on in faith when all I feel like doing is looking back.
In our journey of faith, we often find ourselves at a crossroads, where temptation to dwell on the past can overshadow our present purpose. It’s easy to become fixated on what has been, perhaps yearning for moments we cannot reclaim or learning we’ve outgrown. But God calls us to move forward, to press onward with courage that stems from His promises.
The Scriptures remind us in Philippians 3:13-14, “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
In this pursuit, we can find comfort in knowing that every step forward is a step in faith. Embrace each day as a new beginning, allowing God’s grace to shape your journey.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I come before You today with a heart that seeks to move forward in faith. Help me to release the burdens of my past and focus on the path You have set before me. Strengthen my resolve to press on, even when the weight of nostalgia feels heavy. Guide my thoughts and actions, and fill me with the courage to embrace new opportunities. Thank You for Your unwavering love and support. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
