Mendoza Gives Glory After Hoosiers Playoff Upset

Fernando Mendoza shone bright after Indiana’s thrilling playoff win over Oregon last night. The Hoosiers quarterback opened his postgame interview with praise for God.

“First of all I want to give all the glory to God” Mendoza said. “The defense played fantastic 28 points off of turnovers, the Hoggies are always spectacular and the man up above did so much for us today.”

He credited divine help for the team’s high level play. Mendoza called it a homecoming story returning to Miami roots. Respect went to Oregon coach Mario Cristobal too. He noted the Hurricanes’ tough defense and leadership.

The win means the world to his family. “It means a lot to my mom my parents. I couldn’t have done this without God” he shared. This opportunity blesses his entire team.

Mendoza embraced the underdog label. “Like Pat Coogan said we’re a bunch of misfits. There’s zero five stars on our team. We’re just a bunch of gritty guys who are glued together and going towards a common goal which is to win every each and single game.”

Faith fuels this rise. Mendoza puts Christ first on football’s biggest stages. His words echo Scripture. “Whatever you do work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord not for human masters.” Colossians 3:23.

Jesus transforms ordinary lives into extraordinary testimonies. Mendoza proves God uses the humble to stun the mighty.
