Message:
In the Gospel of Matthew, we are reminded of the profound simplicity and depth of giving. The verse, “When you give to the poor, don’t let anyone know about it,” calls us to a higher standard of generosity. True charity is not about drawing attention to ourselves or seeking validation from others. Instead, it emphasizes the importance of sincerity and humility in our acts of kindness. Giving is an expression of love, a way to reflect the compassion that has been shown to us. It reminds us that our resources are not merely our own, but are to be shared to help those in need. In an age where visibility and status can obscure our motivations, this message is a powerful reminder that the best acts of kindness are often the ones done in silence, for the benefit of others and the glory of God.
Let us make our giving an act of worship, a private conversation between us and God. In doing so, we align our hearts with His, reflecting the heart of Christ who spent His life serving and uplifting those around Him.

Heavenly Father, as we come before You today, we thank You for the countless blessings You have poured into our lives. Your grace sustains us, and Your generosity knows no bounds. We acknowledge that everything we have comes from You, and we are ever grateful. In this moment, we seek to examine our hearts and our motives. Help us to give selflessly, not for recognition or praise, but out of a pure desire to serve You and those in need around us. Teach us the beauty of quiet giving, where our left hand does not know what our right hand is doing, as we aim to reflect Your heart in our actions.
Lord, we ask for a spirit of compassion to rise within us. Break our hearts for the things that break Yours. Open our eyes to the needs around us, that we might respond with love and empathy. When we encounter those who are hurting, may we not be quick to turn away but rather be inspired to reach out and offer what we can, even if it is just a listening ear or a warm meal.
Let our actions speak of love, even in silence. May our giving reflect the profound love You have shown us, reminding us of the great gift of Your Son, who gave everything so that we might have life. May we never forget that it is not just about the act of giving, but the attitude of our hearts that pleases You. Guide us to be cheerful givers, generous in spirit, and diligent in our commitment to help others.
As we set out to follow this calling, remind us that true fulfillment comes not from what we accumulate, but from the love we share. May our lives be a testament to Your grace and may our actions bring glory to Your name. We pray for wisdom and discernment in knowing when and how to give, and for courage to step out in faith.
