In the simplicity of a conversation between two friends, we find a profound truth about love as presented in the Scripture, “God is love.” This statement, drawn from the book of 1 John, invites us to reflect on the nature of love and the essential connection it has with our understanding of God. Love is not merely an emotion; it is a fundamental attribute of God Himself. When we seek to understand what love truly is, we are led to the life and teachings of Jesus, who exemplified love in its purest form.
Love is patient, kind, forgiving, and selfless. It does not insist on its own way but seeks the well-being of others. Help us to see others through Your eyes, recognizing their inherent worth as Your creations. Fill us with the Holy Spirit that we may carry forth Your love into the world, living as a testament to Your truth. Thank You for loving us unconditionally, even when we struggle to love ourselves.
