We make our own plans, but the Lord decides where we will go. – Proverbs 16:9
In our lives, we often envision future paths and create detailed plans that we believe will lead us to success and fulfillment. Yet, the scripture from Proverbs reminds us that while we make our own plans, ultimately, it is the Lord who directs our steps. This truth can bring comfort and reassurance when our plans do not unfold as we envisioned. It teaches us to trust in God’s wisdom and His perfect timing.
Recognizing that God has a broader perspective than we do encourages us to let go of our tight grip on our plans. Even when we face detours or setbacks, we can be assured that there is greater purpose behind them. Each redirection is an opportunity for growth and for us to walk deeper in our faith. As we surrender our will to God, we become open to His guiding presence, which can lead us to places and experiences that we could never have imagined on our own.

Heavenly Father, I come before You today with a heart filled with hopes and dreams, yet understanding that my plans are limited. I acknowledge that while I may have ambitions and aspirations, it is You who holds the ultimate blueprint for my life. Help me to release my grip on my desires and instead fully embrace Your will for me. May I remember that even in uncertainty and when my plans falter, You are intricately guiding me toward something far greater than I could ever conceive.
Lord, I ask for Your wisdom to discern the paths You are laying out before me. Grant me the patience to wait on You and the faith to trust that every twist and turn serves a purpose in my journey. I commit my plans into Your hands, recognizing that they may not always align with Your divine plan. Open my eyes to see the opportunities You place in my path, and give me the courage to step into them.
Help me to be sensitive to Your leading in every aspect of my life. Whether it involves my career, relationships, or personal growth, let me seek Your guidance and allow You to shape my journey. May Your peace fill my heart when I feel anxious about the future. As I surrender to Your plans, may I find joy in the process, knowing that I am in Your capable hands.
Thank You, Lord, for Your unwavering love and perfect wisdom. I trust that You will lead me to the places I need to go, and every step will align with Your purpose.
