The contrast between how the devil and God perceive us is profound. The devil may know our name, a symbol of our identity and potential, yet he seeks to define us by our shortcomings and failures. He exploits our mistakes, using them as a lens through which we view ourselves, often leading to feelings of worthlessness and guilt. The devil’s goal is to keep us in a position of shame, where we are shackled by the weight of our sins.
In contrast, God knows our sins but chooses to call us by our name, affirming our identity regardless of our past. This is a reminder that we are not defined by our mistakes or failures. God sees beyond our sins and recognizes our inherent worth. He offers us grace, forgiveness, and a path to restoration. Through His love, we can reclaim our identity and step into the fullness of who we are created to be.
In moments of despair, we must remember that while the devil may attempt to label us, God sees us as His beloved children, worthy of His mercy and love. This divine perspective allows us to embrace our true selves, leaving behind the chains of sin and stepping into the light of God’s calling.

Heavenly Father, we come before You today with hearts that yearn for Your understanding and grace. We acknowledge that at times, we feel weighed down by our sins and failures. The whisper of the enemy often tries to convince us that we are defined by our past mistakes, labeling us in ways that make us feel unworthy and lost. But Lord, we thank You for the truth that You call us by name, reminding us of our true identity in You.
Thank You for knowing us completely, for seeing each of our struggles, yet still choosing to extend Your love and mercy. Help us to grasp the significance of being called by our name rather than our sins. When we feel lost in the depths of despair, encourage us to remember that we are Your beloved children, inherently worthy of Your forgiveness and grace.
Lord, I pray for anyone struggling with their past today. May they feel Your presence surrounding them as a comfort. Help them to let go of the burdens imposed by the enemy and embrace the identity You have given them.
