In John 10:11, Jesus declares, “I am the good shepherd.” This profound statement reassures us of His role as our protector, guide, and provider. A shepherd’s responsibility is to care for and nurture their flock, leading them to safe pastures and ensuring their well-being. When Jesus identifies Himself as the good shepherd, He invites us into a relationship characterized by love, trust, and unwavering support. In times of uncertainty and fear, knowing that we have a shepherd who lays down His life for us brings comfort and peace.
