The New Testament Plan of Salvation, as articulated in Acts 2:38, guides us through the essential steps of our faith journey. Each step reflects the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, serving as a pathway to spiritual renewal.
1. Death (Repentance): Just as Jesus died for our sins, we are called to die to our former ways of life. Romans 6:2 reminds us of the need for sincere repentance, turning away from our transgressions and embracing a new life in Christ.
2. Burial (Baptism): Jesus was buried, symbolizing the significance of baptism. Romans 6:3-4 teaches us that in baptism, we are buried with Him, marking the end of our old selves and the beginning of our journey in faith.
3. Resurrection (Holy Ghost): The resurrection of Jesus is our hope and promise of eternal life. Romans 6:4, 8:2 encourages us to rise again, fueled by the Holy Spirit, which empowers us to live a life reflecting Christ’s love and grace.
