“When you can’t forgive someone, pray for them. It may or may not change them. But it will always change you.”
Forgiveness is one of the most profound acts of grace we can extend to others. It lifts the burden we carry and releases us from the prison of resentment. Prayer becomes a powerful tool in this process. When we pray for those who have wronged us, we invite healing into our own hearts. It’s not necessarily about changing the other person; instead, it’s about opening up space for our hearts to be transformed.
In times of hurt, our instinct may be to hold onto grudges, but through prayer, we can let go of the weight of our anger and find peace. By seeking God’s help, we learn to view others through a lens of compassion rather than condemnation.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I come before You with a heavy heart. I acknowledge the pain that comes from hurt and betrayal, and I seek Your guidance in forgiving those who have wronged me. Teach me to release my anger and resentment through the power of prayer. Help me to see others as You see them—flawed yet deserving of grace.
Lord, I pray for those I struggle to forgive. May Your love touch their hearts and lead them to transformation. As I pray for them, may I experience healing and freedom in my own life. Empower me to let go and trust in Your perfect plan. Thank You for Your unending mercy. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
