As America approaches its 250th birthday, a major faith gathering is preparing to bring thousands of believers together at one of the nation’s most symbolic locations: the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
This Sunday, the event Rededicate 250 will gather Christians for worship, prayer, and a renewed focus on America as “one nation under God.”
The event features a lineup of worship leaders and speakers, including Gordon Robertson, president of CBN, and Abigail Robertson, host of CBN News’ Heaven Meets Earth podcast.
But for many, this is more than another public gathering.
Organizers say the heart behind the event is to thank God for His faithfulness over the last 250 years and to pray intentionally for the future of the nation.
Abigail Robertson recently shared that she felt deeply led to participate after prayer, describing the theme as centered on “the miracles that made America” and a call to rededicate the nation to God for the generations ahead.
In preparation, she has reportedly been visiting the National Mall, praying over the grounds, and even running through the area as an act of intercession.
She shared that while praying about the event, she felt led by Hebrews 12 to “run the race set before” her and began praying for spiritual protection over the gathering.
Her prayer is simple but bold: that the Holy Spirit would move powerfully and that God’s presence would rest on the event.
At a time when America remains deeply divided politically, culturally, and spiritually, gatherings like this resonate because they reflect a growing desire among many believers to seek renewal not through politics alone, but through prayer, repentance, and spiritual awakening.
Psalm 33:12 says, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.”
Whether one views events like this as symbolic or deeply prophetic, the message is clear: many Christians believe the future of a nation is shaped not only by policies and elections, but by the spiritual condition of its people.
As America marks nearly two and a half centuries of history, many are asking a deeper question:
What kind of nation will the next 250 years become?
Will you be praying for America this weekend?
