A community is mourning the loss of Beverly Gumm, 72, and her daughter Christina Combs, 32, who were tragically killed in a daylight shooting at Richmond Road Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky. The gunman, identified as Guy House, entered the church’s fellowship hall during Sunday lunch preparations and opened fire after failing to find the person he was seeking. Both women, remembered as devoted mothers and faithful servants of the church, died while serving others—one loved for feeding the hungry, the other a mother of five just months from graduating nursing school. The attack also left the church’s longtime pastor and Combs’ husband critically injured. The community is rallying in prayer and support as they honor the legacy of two women who touched countless lives.
