US Embassy Jerusalem Tightens Security Amid Iran Strike Concerns

A US strike on Iran appears increasingly likely, and the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem has begun taking special steps to protect its staff.

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee emailed staff saying, “Focus on getting a seat to any place from which you can then continue travel to DC … but the first priority will be getting expeditiously out of country.”

“There is no need to panic,” he said. But the embassy has also declared travel restrictions, warning U.S. employees not to travel near the Lebanese or Syrian borders, as well as the West Bank.
