Embracing Style at Any Age
We all have our own unique style, and age should never be a barrier to expressing our fashion choices. That’s the message one inspirational 76-year-old grandmother, Candace Cima, wants to share with the world.
Candace, a proud grandmother of 11, recently shared a photo of herself modeling a chic sleeveless midi dress on social media. While many praised her confidence and sense of style, there were unfortunately some negative comments as well.
Challenging Outdated Notions
Candace, an influencer in the fashion world, believes that society still holds outdated notions about what is considered age-appropriate fashion. She firmly believes that these notions need to change.
“People have such outdated notions about age-appropriate fashion, and that needs to change,” Cima told TODAY. “It’s perfectly appropriate to have wrinkled skin at 76, and I’m not ashamed of it.”
Celebrating Beautiful Confidence
The negative comments didn’t discourage Candace. Instead, she chose to focus on inspiring others, especially the younger generation, with her wisdom and confidence.
“Aging is great. Everything you have learned your entire life is now there for you. You are now the wisest that you are ever going to be. Embrace it and be proud,” she advised her followers.
Candace’s journey into the world of fashion began in 2019 when she noticed a lack of representation for older women. She decided to start her fashion blog, aiming to empower women and challenge the conventional ideas of how to dress as you get older.
“We need to shift the way we think about age. We don’t need to adhere to these old ideas in a modern world,” Candace shared.
A Message of Empowerment
Candace’s story serves as a powerful reminder that fashion and self-expression know no age limits. She continues to inspire and encourage people to embrace their style and celebrate their individuality, regardless of their age.
So, let’s follow Candace’s lead and break free from society’s expectations. Embrace your own unique style, radiate confidence, and remember that you are never too old to express yourself through fashion!
