Archaeologists have uncovered what might be the earliest known name of God outside the Bible, carved into stone over 3,000 years ago using an early alphabet. The inscription bears the name “Yahweh,” the same name for God found in the Old Testament. Discovered in the region where the Bible describes the Israelites’ Exodus journey from Egypt, this finding aligns with their route. Experts suggest it could have been inscribed by people linked to the Hebrews, providing strong evidence that the name of Israel’s God was known and documented at the precise time and place the Bible indicates.
