As the school year kicks off for me in a few days, I’ve been preparing by setting up my notes and ordering my books, but also with this study on anxiety by @thedailygraceco 🌿

I’m sure I’m not alone in this, but I tend to get very anxious and stressed during the school year as I feel there’s not enough time in each day to do as much school work as I’d like, spend time with my family, have time to myself, and factor my job in also. I get stressed as I feel things slowly spiral out of my control.

The thing is, I have never been in control. God is.

Although I’m only about halfway through it, It Is Well has provided me with multiple practical ways to seek God and rely on Him in the midst of anxiety. This study breaks down scripture explaining the cause and what the Bible says about anxiety. Reflection has been a big portion of this bible study as well. It has been so so good. 🤍

Some of my biggest takeaways so far have been:
– Discernment is key; anxiety is not from God. Love, power and sound judgment are. (2 Timothy 1:7)
– Prayer is necessary. (Philippians 4:6)
– Prayer changes us. (2 Samuel 1:12-20)
– The Holy Spirit prays for us when we cannot form words to bring our prayers to God. (Romans 8:26-27)
– We are meant to take on His yoke which is easy and His burden that’s light. (Matthew 11:28-30)
– Feelings aren’t facts. We must take every thought captive to Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)
– We must humble ourselves to trust that He is sovereign. Then we are able to cast our cares on Him. (1 Peter 5:6-7)
– God will provide for our needs. His sovereign hand is over all of the future and uncertainties to come. (Matthew 6:25-35)

I want to say it is well, with my soul and genuinely mean it.

Because, with God, it is well. Regardless of how I feel. 🌿
