Owen’s mother, Maggie, initially doubted her son’s story about hitting the kidnapper perfectly from a distance. But the police confirmed the truth when they saw the swelling on the suspect’s forehead caused by the slingshot strikes. For Maggie, it was a moment of shock and amazement. She couldn’t believe that something straight out of a movie had actually happened in real life.
