Broken Arrow Council Rejects Islamic Center Rezoning

In a powerful display of community conviction, the Broken Arrow City Council voted 4–1 to reject a rezoning request for a massive 15-acre Islamic center. Despite earlier planning approvals, over 1,300 residents gathered in a marathon session, proving that the heart of a community cannot be rezoned.

“”I have a daughter who is 15 years old,”” one concerned resident testified, echoing the fears of many parents. “”I don’t want this ideology imposed on her.”” While city officials focused on infrastructure and floodplain issues, the spiritual atmosphere was undeniable. As emotions peaked, the cry of the faithful rang out: “”We need Jesus, not more religious conflict!””

For local believers, this wasn’t just about traffic—it was about stewardship of the land and the cultural fabric of our homes. “”It’s the job of our government to protect our culture and citizen rights,”” noted attendee Cheri Thomas. The decision reflects a growing desire to protect the peace and safety of our neighborhoods from rapid, incompatible development.

As we celebrate this moment of clarity, let us not forget our mission. We are called to be the salt and light. This victory is a reminder to stay vigilant and to keep our eyes on the Cross.

May we continue to seek God’s wisdom for our leaders and pray that His truth remains the foundation of our community. The battle for our values is won on our knees!
