Houston Texans QB CJ Stroud opened up about something he’s been battling lately. He said he’s been struggling with cursing and wants to remove it from his daily vocabulary.
His words were simple but powerful: “I can’t proclaim I love God and have a wild mouth… it’s hypocritical.”

This kind of accountability is rare in the spotlight. Stroud is choosing to honor God not only with his talent, but with his character and the way he speaks. Scripture reminds us that “death and life are in the power of the tongue,” (Proverbs 18:21) and it takes real discipline to let the Holy Spirit clean up the areas we overlook.
May we all take inventory of our speech the same way.
