This is evil.
A man in his 40s was brutally attacked in north Belfast late Monday night, reportedly suffering serious injuries to his eyes, face, neck, and back. Police arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of attempted murder, and a kitchen knife was recovered at the scene. Brave bystanders stepped in and helped stop the attack before more damage was done.
There is no soft way to say it: this was wicked, cowardly, and demonic in nature.
Christians should never make peace with evil. We should never sanitize violence. We should never pretend darkness is just “brokenness” when a man’s life is nearly taken in the street.
The Bible says, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.” — Isaiah 5:20
But we also cannot let righteous anger become sinful hatred.
Evil must be confronted.
Justice must be demanded.
The victim must be prayed for.
The attacker must be held accountable.
And the truth must not be buried.
Pray for this man’s healing.
Pray for his family.
Pray for Belfast.
Pray that justice is swift and righteous.
Because when innocent blood is shed, heaven does not look away.
