From Birkot HaShachar to Philippi’s First Converts

I just learned that in the Apostle Paul’s era, many Jewish men likely grew up praying the “Birkot HaShachar” prayers, where they would thank God daily they were “not a WOMAN, a SLAVE, or a GENTILE.”

And after Paul is saved he goes to Philippi (a colony of Rome, making it a symbol of the gospel going global) and the FIRST three people God saves are…

– A woman (Lydia)
– A slave (the slave girl with the spirit of divination)
– A Gentile (the Philippian jailer)

God is so intentional!!
