hello, friends!! here’s a little about my walk with Jesus!! 💛 I grew up going to church with my family. I was baptized at a very young age at a Greek Orthodox church. my family regularly attended an Eastern Orthodox Church, an hour away from home. when I was about 8 years old, we began attending a local Episcopalian church in town. I attended church off & on there throughout the next five years or so. throughout all this time, I learned the Sunday school stories like David & Goliath, Daniel & the lions’ den, and the birth of Jesus. that was all I knew at the time. I didn’t truly understand the Bible or anything I was hearing in church. I rarely went to church because competitive soccer picked up & I was traveling nearly every weekend somewhere in the state.

sophomore year, a couple of classmates persuaded me to try attending a local youth group, every Wednesday evening. this was so far out of my comfort zone. but it was all God’s plan. I showed up & knew next to nothing about the Bible. I was uncomfortable, shy & awkward. over the next couple months, I grew comfortable in the environment & learned more about Jesus & the Bible. I grew to love Him & I gave my life to Jesus sometime during April, 2017. however, I still struggled with having my own faith. throughout the rest of high school, I often found my identity in social media or my sports. what people said & thought about me would hurt me often.

I have been on two mission trips to Mexico with the high school youth ministry I was a part of. they completely changed my perspective & outlook on life. I was taking for granted so many things that made life comfortable, when some of the people & kids I met were so joyful with only knowing Jesus, having each other, and a few toys for the kids. these experiences pushed me outside my comfort zone, but definitely for the better.
