The Siloam Tunnel, discovered in the City of David, matches the biblical description, showing water diverted from the Gihon Spring into the city.
An inscription found within the tunnel describes its construction, this confirming it was built by workers digging from opposite ends to meet in the middle, all by sound.
The tunnel is a significant piece of ancient engineering, built around 701 BC, to secure Jerusalem’s water supply during the Assyrian siege.
2 Kings 20:20 mentions Hezekiah making the “conduit to bring water into the city,” finding Hezekiah’s Tunnel confirms this.
