I’ve been married for about five months now. they have so far, been the most joyful months of my life! ❤️ but that doesn’t mean they have been without struggles, difficulties, and hardship.

marriage is good. “Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”” Genesis‬ ‭2:18‬ 💍

don’t get me wrong, parts of marriage look like how social media portrays it: seasons of constant laughter, contentment with your spouse & the Lord, and joyful adventures together. 🌿

however, marriage is never perfect. social media paints ideals and pictures of what marriage looks like that are not even close to 100% accurate. some days, it’s hard. some days communication and forgiveness feel like the hardest things. some days, it’s hard to not argue. some days, it’s hard to keep God at the center of our marriage. we all are imperfect and can become anxious, tired, weak, and worn thin.

thankfully, we have Jesus. although our love isn’t perfect, God’s is. at my husband’s and my wedding a few months ago, we had these bible verses read at our wedding, as many others have as well: “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:4-7‬ ❤️

these verses are filled with truth. the thing is, our love is flawed; sometimes, we will fail to love our spouse as they deserve. we won’t be kind and patient. we will be rude and prideful. some days, it will be hard. but we have God’s love holding us together through it all. “And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes‬ ‭4:12‬

God’s “Love never ends.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:8‬

It’s so important that we as Christians gather in fellowship with like-believers…
