Actor Lucas Black declares that Hollywood fame has always taken a backseat to his Christian faith and family.
The star, widely recognized for portraying Special Agent Christopher LaSalle on NCIS: New Orleans, places his personal life first.
“I’m married, I have three kids, trying to be a man of God, live by faith, and be present for my wife and my kids,” he shared.
After 14 years of marriage, Black credits placing Jesus at the core of his relationship as essential. “When we made that covenant before God, she became the number one person in my life,” he noted.
“We keep Jesus at the center. He’s the head. We can’t do it without Him.” He added humorously that his wife’s tolerance stems “only from the power of God to put up with my shenanigans.”
Black revealed family priorities led him to exit his prominent TV position. The demanding 70-hour workweeks left little time with his children. “That kind of schedule doesn’t bode too well for the relationships that mean the most in your life,” he explained. Following extensive prayer and reflection, he decided to depart.
Facing criticism for his outspoken faith, Black finds the support far greater. “I pray about what God wants me to do,” he stated. “He’s called me to encourage the Body of Christ. I stand up for the Gospel, and I’m resilient.”
