American medical missionary Dr. Peter Stafford and his family have been released from Berlin’s Charité University Hospital after he was treated for a Bundibugyo Ebola virus infection.
Serge said Stafford has tested negative for Ebola, has shown no symptoms for more than 72 hours, and is no longer under isolation.
His wife, Rebekah Stafford, thanked God for preserving his life and expressed gratitude to the many people who prayed for their family.
“We are happy to report that Peter has made significant improvements,” she said.
Rebekah also honored the Congolese, American, and German medical workers who cared for them, saying their hearts remain with frontline workers in Congo who continue risking their lives to care for the sick.
