Markwayne Mullin said officials have located 146,000 migrant children while nearly 300,000 remain missing after entering the United States as unaccompanied minors.
He said some children were found in deeply abusive situations and argued that law enforcement must be fully supported in efforts to rescue and protect them.
Mullin blamed the previous border crisis for allowing vulnerable children to disappear into dangerous situations, including trafficking and exploitation.
He said the Trump administration is now working through DHS and other federal partners to find missing children, expose abuse, and hold perpetrators accountable.
