In August 2024, Mel Gibson visited the set of The Chosen and met its creator Dallas Jenkins for the first time.
Jenkins posted the photo on Instagram: “Worlds finally colliding, but in a good way. Had a chance to finally meet the other Jesus storyteller.”
Two men. Both committed to bringing Jesus to the biggest possible audience.
Gibson is currently filming The Resurrection of the Christ in Rome at Cinecittà Studios, the same studio where he filmed The Passion of the Christ over 20 years ago. The film will be released in two parts in 2027.
