Neal McDonough Stands Firm as Voice of Jesus

Neal McDonough says he stands by his role as the voice of Jesus in the now-controversial Life of Jesus Podcast, calling it a sincere tool to help people engage with Scripture.

McDonough said he’s not political but a “God-fearing American,” and believes the podcast makes the Bible more accessible for those who don’t know where to begin.

The project, recorded nearly 15 years ago as part of The Truth & Life Dramatized Audio Bible, sparked backlash after being released as a 52-episode podcast by Fox Faith without some actors realizing it would be repurposed.

While others distanced themselves, McDonough emphasized the spiritual purpose and value of the series. We applaud him for boldly remaining faithful to his beliefs.
