In an emotional video posted Monday, the well-known celebrity blogger Perez Hilton shared a major update on his spiritual life, announcing that he is reading the Bible “from start to finish” for the first time.
Hilton’s public faith journey was sparked by a harrowing 21-day stay in the hospital that culminated in a near-death experience. Reflecting on the crisis, he stated simply: “God … saved me.”
“God presented Himself to me in the hospital,” Hilton said. “And then healed me, [He] did something that I can only describe as a miracle.”
For years, Hilton says he had been calling out to God and inviting Him into his heart. However, this recent experience moved him from a place of seeking to a place of absolute certainty.
“I no longer need to have faith, I no longer need to hope to believe; I know that God is real and that God loves me,” he shared.
