On this special day—marking the 250th anniversary of the Continental Congress’s 1776 ‘Day of Humiliation, Fasting and Prayer’—Christians are centering the nation’s milestone birthday around Christ, repentance, and divine guidance.
Reflecting on America’s ultimate source of freedom, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reminded the nation, ‘Our rights don’t come from government, they come from God. And a nation is only as strong as its faith.’ Senior faith adviser Paula White-Cain added, ‘This is really truly rededicating the country to God.’ Through Scripture, worship, and prayer pillars like ‘The Miracles that Made Us,’ the assembly moves the conversation away from politics to focus entirely on the provision of Jesus and the power of collective prayer for the next 250 years.
