Strength in the Valley

How do we respond when crisis strikes our homes? True strength does not come from political power or worldly titles, but from a deeper foundation.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced her resignation, effective June 30, 2026, ending her 15-month tenure overseeing the country’s spy agencies. This sudden move follows a heartbreaking medical report: her husband, Abraham Williams, has been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer.

Instead of clinging to Washington power, Gabbard chose the Biblical calling of marital covenant and devotion. In her official resignation letter, she wrote, ‘At this time, I must step away from public service to be by his side and fully support him through this battle.’

This step of profound sacrifice mirrors her recent powerful address at the National Mall during the America 250 faith gathering, where she boldly reminded the nation, ‘There is only one number one and that is God.’ True faith is tested not in times of comfort, but in the valleys of affliction. Let us stand together in prayer for healing, restoring our focus on what truly matters before the Creator.
