Texas Grand Jury Declines to Charge Father After Protecting Daughter

A Texas father will not face criminal charges after he fatally attacked a man who sexually assaulted his young daughter.

According to reports, the father became alarmed after his son ran back home saying his 5 year old sister had been taken into a nearby shed. When the father arrived, he discovered the man with his daughter and immediately took action.

The suspect died from his injuries.

A grand jury later declined to indict the father. Under Texas law, force, including deadly force in certain circumstances, can be considered legally justified when stopping violent crimes such as sexual assault.
