The Church of Eleven22 held its annual beach baptism event at Hanna Park in Jacksonville, Florida, where more than 2,500 people publicly declared their faith through baptism.
According to the church, this year’s gathering saw a major increase from the previous year. Thousands gathered along the shoreline as long lines formed for baptisms in the Atlantic Ocean.
Photos and aerial footage from the event showed large crowds celebrating and cheering as people entered the water to take part in the public declaration of faith.
The church described baptism as “a step of obedience, a celebration of new life and a powerful reminder that you are made new in Him.”
Founded in 2012 by Pastor Joby Martin, The Church of Eleven22 has continued expanding across Northeast Florida and South Georgia with multiple campuses and growing attendance.
The large gathering reflects a continued rise in public worship events and mass baptisms taking place across parts of the United States.
