Tim Allen just wrapped up reading the entire Bible — and he says it changed him. In a post on X, the actor shared that he ‘finished the entire Bible’ after a ’13-month word-by-word page-by-page no skimming journey.’ No rushing. No shortcuts.
The result? Allen said he was ‘humbled, enlightened and amazed at what I read and what I learned.’ He admitted this was something he had never really done before. ‘Never took the time in all my years to ever read and really read the Bible,’ he wrote when he first started the journey.
As he worked through the Old Testament, he found it was ‘not at all what I was expecting’ — calling the experience ‘such a gift.’ Allen shared that when he gets ‘out of the way,’ the spiritual meaning just flows. The New Testament sparked even more wonder, as he was ‘amazed in seven pages’ upon starting Romans.
For Allen, this was more than just a reading challenge; it was a profound encounter with the Word of God. Now that he is done, he plans to ‘rest and meditate on so much.’ But he is not stopping there. His next move? ‘I will begin it again.’
