Exactly 250 years ago today, on May 17, 1776, the Continental Congress called the American colonies to observe a national day of “humiliation (humbling), fasting, and prayer” as the nation fought for liberty during the Revolutionary War. The proclamation called the people to repentance, worship, and dependence on God’s providence through “the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ.”
Today, another call of humbling, prayer, and repentance has been called to re-dedicate this great nation back to the God of the Bible!
Praise the Lord!!
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.”-Psalm 33:12
