A Lighthearted Line, A Serious Moment

In the pilot episode of Little House on the Prairie, there’s a lighthearted moment that feels anything but light today. After Laura correctly identifies whether a horse is male or female, Ma appears embarassed, but Pa jokes:

“Well, if she couldn’t tell the difference between a boy and a girl, she’d be in a heap of trouble.”

What was said in humor has become painfully prophetic. We are living in a time when a society that cannot—or will not—acknowledge the basic reality of male and female has indeed found itself in a heap of trouble: confusion, brokenness, harmed children, and truth treated as optional.

Believers, continue to lovingly expose deception. Light will always ultimately drive out darkness. As more and more people stand without fear for God’s created order, reality, and truth, we will see the tide begin to turn at an even greater accelerated rate.
