Activists Charged After Disrupting St. Paul Church Service

The U.S. Department of Justice announced that three activists were arrested and charged for disrupting a worship service at Cities Church in St. Paul during an anti-ICE protest last Sunday.

Attorney General Pam Bondi said Nekima Levy Armstrong and Chauntyll Louisa Allen were charged under the FACE Act, which protects religious freedom and prohibits interference with worship services. Bondi said Armstrong allegedly helped organize the coordinated disruption and warned that attacks on places of worship “will not be tolerated.”

A third activist, William Kelly, was later arrested after video showed him harassing and mocking churchgoers. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said the suspects would also face charges related to conspiracy against civil rights, emphasizing that “there is no First Amendment right to obstruct someone from practicing their religion.”
