Seeding the Clouds for Revival

Pastor Jentezen Franklin delivered one of the most memorable messages at Rededicate 250 by drawing a powerful parallel to the prophet Elijah on Mount Carmel.

Recounting 1 Kings 18, Franklin said Elijah climbed the mountain during a time of spiritual drought and “began to seed the clouds with prayer.” Bowing in profound humility, Elijah cried out for God to send rain to a nation devastated by idolatry and rebellion.

Franklin told the crowd that America is facing its own spiritual dryness, and believers today are doing exactly what Elijah did. Through prayer, worship, fasting, and humble repentance, Christians are “seeding the spiritual clouds over Washington, D.C.” He reminded attendees that Elijah’s servant first saw only “a cloud the size of a man’s hand,” but that small sign was the beginning of a mighty downpour.

“Every time you clap your hands and praise to God, you’re seeding,” Franklin declared, describing “invisible vapors” forming clouds over the White House, the Supreme Court, and Congress

His message was that no prayer is wasted. Just as God answered Elijah and sent rain to a dry land, He can once again “bless America with revival” and pour out His Spirit on “our children and our children’s children.”
