Argentina’s government under President Javier Milei has officially designated branches of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan as terrorist organizations, adding them to the country’s Public Registry of Persons and Entities Linked to Acts of Terrorism and their Financing (RePET) because authorities say these branches pose a threat to national security due to alleged transnational illegal activities and ties to extremist groups.
This move follows a similar designation by the United States just days earlier and is part of broader efforts by Buenos Aires to align its security policy with Western partners and combat terrorism.
