A West Virginia woman has been arrested after authorities say she tried to recruit people online to assassinate President Donald Trump.
According to investigators, Morgan L. Morrow, 39, allegedly posted messages on social media encouraging someone to kill the president, even suggesting that a “terminally ill sniper” should carry it out.
She has now been charged with making a terroristic threat and taken into custody.
Think about how far things have gone. Political disagreement is normal in America. But openly calling for the death of a president should never be normal.
Imagine if someone had posted something like this about Barack Obama or Joe Biden. The national outrage would be immediate—and rightly so. Violence is not the answer for any side.
Yes, threats against presidents have always existed. But the level of hostility and assassination attempts surrounding this presidency is unlike anything we’ve seen in modern American politics.
Regardless of where someone stands politically, we should all be able to agree on one thing:
Violence against political leaders is NOT how a republic survives. Our answer isn’t violence. Our answer isn’t hate.
Scripture warns:
“A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.”-Proverbs 25:28
America doesn’t just need better politics.
It needs repentance, revival, and the Prince of Peace.
