Candace Cameron Bure Warns About Entertainment “Portals”

Candace Cameron Bure discussed spiritual warfare on her podcast with son Lev Bure and Pastor Jonathan Pokluda, warning that entertainment choices can open doors to evil influences. Bure said it matters to “expose what’s been hiding in the dark for a long time,” while Lev added, “You can’t fight a battle that you don’t know you’re in.”

Bure said scary movies aren’t welcome in her home because she sees them as a spiritual risk. “They laugh at me because the portal, I’m like, ‘You’re opening up a portal,’” she said. “I don’t even want someone watching a scary movie in our house on the TV, because to me, that’s just a portal.” Even knowing filmmaking is staged, she added, “However, there’s still something that can be incredibly demonic…I feel like it’s a portal that gets opened up and let in.”

Lev said he avoids certain content too, explaining, “I don’t like language—bad language, foul language…My heart wrestles with that,” and noted that nudity and sex can be a temptation. Pokluda also warned that Satan “tries to disguise” harmful influences, saying, “You don’t know what you’re messing around with.”
