Coach RAC Prays Over Record Banana Ball Crowd

Savannah Bananas outfielder Coach RAC, whose real name is RobertAnthony Cruz, prayed over the team’s largest crowd in banana ball history as 102,000 fans filled Kyle Field. “God, thank you for the families finding their seats,” he prayed. “I pray that you would strengthen their bond.”

He also prayed for those entering the stadium who felt isolated or burdened. “I pray that the people walking in who feel lost and alone, that they might find community,” Cruz said, asking that they would experience “the soul-satisfying peace that only comes through knowing in Jesus Christ.”

Cruz also thanked God for the Sandlot Revival worship night he and his teammates hosted the night before, saying he had the chance to pray over children and sing worship with them. “It was one of the most beautiful things that I have ever experienced,” he said.

He closed by asking God to use him and his teammates well. “I pray that we would be good ambassadors for Christ, that we would be salt and light in a dark world,” Cruz prayed. “God, thank you for the opportunity to maybe be a role model and to point to something that’s so much greater than ourselves.”
