Cruz Warns Church: Antisemitism Rising on the Right

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz warned Christian leaders that antisemitism is growing inside parts of the political right and can no longer be ignored. Speaking at Cornerstone Church in San Antonio during the “Night to Honor Israel,” Cruz called the trend “a growing cancer” and said, “In the last six months, I have seen antisemitism rising on the right in a way I have never seen in my entire life.”

Addressing an audience connected to Christians United for Israel (CUFI), Cruz added, “The work that CUFI does is desperately needed, but I’m here to tell you, the church is asleep right now.” He urged pastors and Christian leaders to take responsibility for confronting hatred rather than dismissing it as fringe.

Cruz linked the rise in antisemitism to online platforms where extremist figures have gained influence and warned that some rhetoric is fueled by theology as well as politics. He criticized replacement theology, calling it “a lie that the promises God made to Israel… are somehow no longer good.”

Recounting a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Cruz said he pushed back against the idea that antisemitism on the right is only foreign propaganda. “Yes, Qatar and Iran are paying for it,” he said, “but I am telling you, this is real, it is organic… and it is spreading.” Cruz concluded by calling on Christians to defend Israel and reject antisemitism wherever it appears.
