DOJ Investigates Don Lemon After Minneapolis Church Disruption

On January 18, an anti-ICE protest group disrupted a Sunday worship service at Cities Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Protesters entered the church, chanting slogans and confronting attendees, causing fear and confusion among the congregation—including children who were reportedly terrified by the disruption.

Former CNN anchor Don Lemon was present during the incident, livestreaming the event and defending the protesters’ right to free speech. During the chaotic scene, Lemon was seen literally up in the face of the church’s pastor, aggressively trying to interview him in the middle of the service, adding to the disruption and distress.

The Department of Justice has now put Don Lemon on notice, indicating he is under investigation for his involvement with the group that stormed the church.
Federal authorities are examining whether the disruption violated laws designed to protect places of worship, such as the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, which prohibits interference with religious services.
