Media personality and physician Dr. Drew Pinsky is pushing back against growing fear surrounding Hantavirus coverage, accusing major outlets of creating what he called “panic p*rn” over the rare disease. Dr. Drew emphasized that Hantavirus is not spreading person-to-person like COVID-19 and is most commonly contracted through exposure to infected rodent droppings, urine, or saliva. Health officials agree the virus remains rare in the United States.
